SCS-Works going on temporary hiatus!

Are we abandoning Kuuga now after getting this far?

NO!

However, I (Syochan) will be relocated half way around the globe this time next week. As with all major reshuffles of lifestyle, I'll need time to reformat my life (new PC, setting up an internet connection, a job, etc).

So for these reasons and probably a few more that I'm ignoring right now, It'd be hard for me to work on fansubs for a while.

Rest assured though that we'll pick up where we left off as soon as possible!

So until then, take care.

P.S. For those wondering why my relocating would effect Kuuga, you should see the staff credits on the Project Page.

  1. Interestingly, this is pretty good timing since I'm going to be disappearing back home for the whole of December.

Effectively, that's 2 members out of the 3 going AWOL.

  2. Sigh. This will never get subbed.

  3. Good luck in your travels though.

  6. Thanks for all the work you've done on Kuuga thus far. You guys rule. We've waited 10 years, we can wait a bit longer ;) Just keep us updated on your status, don't disappear! Too many groups just fall off the face of the planet.

Hope your trip goes safely and all is well, and here's to getting Kuuga running again as soon as you can.

  7. Thanks for the mostly positive comments!

For the others, I would have thought our fairly consistent and frequent releases of 12 episodes so far (and going beyond what the previous 'subbed in english' episodes stopped at) would inspire more confidence in you. Oh well, I can't stop you abandoning us because life gets in the way.

Moving on, with 3 days left now, this is probably my final time here from my home. I'll probably sign in again from a netcafe when I've arrived over there.

  8. You don't exactly give a very reassuring vibe though. Especially when you say that you'll sign on from a net cafe. How long do you expect to be gone?

  9. I think you're reading too much into my words for some kind of hidden meaning...

I'm moving and if anyone else has tried moving to another country, it's no quick task. With a flight luggage capacity of 20kg, it means I can only carry my games consoles and hard drives with me.

Without a computer, a phone, or an internet connection, there's not much I can use other than net cafes in the meantime, are there?

I also said I'd sign in from a net cafe when I'm there so I can keep you people updated rather than leaving the place dead. Or is a sudden unannounced return preferred around these parts?

  10. I have been most impressed with your hard work on Kuuga and look forward to more episodes hopefully in the not-too-distant future. As with all of us, life beckons to stray from our labor(s) of love. Be safe, stay well & live your life first. I'm confident we'll see more Kamen Rider Kuuga goodness from you but only when you're ready. It wouldn't be as much fun if you forced yourself and I appreciate the quality you bring with each episode right down to the opening and ending credits! Thanks again!! Every good wish!! :)

  11. It's just troubling to see you without a computer for so long. How long of a hiatus do you expect this to be? This has happened to us before. Look at Pal over at Century Kings. Every hiatus is met with a troubling absence for months on end.

  12. It is unfair to assume that because other groups have done such so shall we. Syochan will be without a computer for as long as it takes to get settled. He can't estimate exactly how long this will be, but don't expect anything till next year.

This does not mean we are shutting down or stopping our work. While Syochan is away I will still be doing my share of the work which will help Syochan continue when he returns.

  13. So one year? Hrm...

  14. Not "one year". Keep in mind that next year is only 34 days away.
